- North Sea Clients |
Assisting
a client to evaluate development strategies for a large oil development
in the North Sea. The client is currently investigating which are
the most robust development strategies & options to proceed through
for further technical, economic & commercial evaluation. Ideas
Genesis assisted the client in this decision making process using
our in-depth development & North Sea expertise and utilised probabilistic
life cycle business modelling to provide a quantitative overview of
the merits of specific strategies and development options. The development
is currently progressing through for further definition where Ideas
will be assisting in cost & schedule risk identification &
probabilistic modelling. |

Channel Gas Gathering Project Dynamic Simulation |
Shell
Nigeria / Mott Macdonald / Daiwoo |
Engineering
simulator for the new gas gathering facilities at Krakama, Awoba as
well the main Cawthorne Channel facilities. The simulator is a hi-fidelity
representation of the proposed facilities which include reciprocating
and centrifugal compressors and their control schemes. For the centrifugal
compressors, the control scheme accounts for Compressor Control Corporation
algorithms for surge protection and load sharing and performance control.
Genesis
have been working closely with the Mott Macdonald project team so
that the simulator can be used as a design validation tool that
has provided timely advice to the team when considering process
configuration or control scheme options.
It is
expected that engineering simulator will provide the basis of an
Operator Training Simulator.

III Dynamic Simulation (Caister Mudoch System) |
Brown
& Root / Conoco |
Engineering
simulator for the next phase of the CMS III compression facilities.
Initial
modelling work was completed in Spring 2001. As the design has matured,
new engineering data has been provided and incorporated to assess
operability and controllability of new facilities. Dynamic simulation
has been able to show that additional valving is not required and
thereby saved clients about $2M.
The simulator
has been used to confirm that the proposed control scheme for the
compressors will work as expected. This control scheme accounts
for Compressor Control Corporation algorithms for surge protection
and load sharing and performance control.
